Make Your Own Bamboo Indoor Fountain

Indoor fountains help to create an ambience of peace and serenity in your home. Most of the time, the sound of water is used to relax guests and homeowners. A bamboo indoor fountain is one of the more popular indoor fountains. You can create your very own simple bamboo indoor fountain with a little creativity.

What You Will Need

To make your own bamboo indoor fountain, you will need three sticks of bamboo in varying lengths. Ideally, the longest length should be around ten to twelve inches in height and the shortest, around three to five inches. The middle length should be any where in between the length of your long and short bamboo sticks. Make sure that the bamboo sticks you will use for your bamboo indoor fountain are hollow with a diameter of around 1 to 2 inches.

You will also need a deep bowl with a diameter of twelve to fifteen inches for your bamboo indoor fountain. Some medium to small size rocks (preferably flat) will also be necessary as well as some pebbles. You can opt for multi-colored stones and pebbles or have them in the same shade. A small water pump is also needed for your bamboo indoor fountain project. The water pump must come with a water tube with a diameter that will be a close fit to your bamboo sticks. You can adjust the diameter of both according to what is available.

You have the option of tying the three varying lengths of bamboo in any way you wish. If you want to glue or stick them together with industrial glue, you may do so. Make sure the glue will not deteriorate in water. Most bamboo indoor fountain designs are grouped into three instead of in a straight line.

Get your bowl and position your water pump in the center. Cover the pump with the pebbles, making sure that the water output tube is not block and clearly visible. You can weigh down the water pump with some of the medium sized rocks, still making sure that the water tube is sticking out at least 10 inches or so upward.

Position your trio of bamboo sticks in such a way that the water tube is fitted onto the longest length of bamboo. If the water tube is too long for the bamboo, you can try moving your bamboo sticks upward and anchoring them with more rocks. Fill the bowl with water, about halfway and turn on the water pump. You can move the design of you bamboo indoor fountain around according to your wishes.
